Singita Mara River Tented Camp

Singita Mara River Tented Camp is situated in the northern most tip of Serengeti national park on the most wonderfully remote Lamai wedge. Located in the Mara triangle, Singita Mara Tented camp is an iconic location with the Mara River, Serengeti to the south and Kenya’s Masai Mara to the North.
Mara River Camp is located in the all year round game rich area of the Serengeti, which offers guests the chance to spend time in the spectacular yet remote area, with the highest concentration of wildlife in Serengeti National Park. Resident plains game, big cats, buffalo and elephants are regular sightings in the rocky kopjes and riverine forest, and the Mara River holds a large population of crocodile and hippo.
The camp’s location provides authentic opportunities to view the river crossings of the annual wildebeest migration, best during the months of July, August, September, October and November.
The Camp is a perfect area and a home to the highest concentrations of wildlife in Tanzania. Guests can get up close and personal with the wildlife using walking safaris, day safari drives or spot-lit night drives through the reserve.

Facts about Singita Mara River Tented Camp

Singita Mara River Tented Camp is the first permanent safari camp within the Lamai wedge, which fits between the Mara River to the south and the southern border of Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Park.

Tanzania National Park Authority granted its existence, following the success of the Singita Grumeti Reserve, in the western part of Serengeti, where they have a number of sister camps including Faru Faru, Sasakwa and Sabora.

Although the Camp is not in a private concession, it is comparable in style, design, and quality with its sister camps. It also shares their commitment to giving visitors an awe-inspiring safari experience in a secluded location.

Singita Mara River Tented Camp is the only permanent camp in this area, that’s open for most of the year, although a couple of small seasonal camps arrive during the wildebeest migration, between July and October. With permission from TANAPA, Singita’s guides have from scratch created game-drive routes. This makes for an authentic offbeat safari experience, on relatively uncharted routes, with very few other visitors.
