Alex Walker’s Serian Serengeti Luxury Safari Camp

Alex Walkers Serian Serengeti’s North and south luxury camp is a seasonal migratory camp. And because of this, the camp aims to give guests a simple, authentic bush experience, it’s a relaxed and friendly camp which retains a luxurious edge. The location of the camp is set to 2km from the Mara River, away from the main location, and as such follows for the animals to wander through, as well as a sense of tranquility.

As a mobile camp, the surrounding environment is governed by the wildebeest migration.The Serian Serengeti only moves to two general areas including the northern Lamai Wedge/Kogatende area and the southern Serengeti Plains throughout the year, with each location having two camps respectively.

The tents are suitable as a double, twin or triple. There are two family tents which consist of two interconnecting bedrooms with a central lounge. The tents are standard beautiful tents with en-suite facilities including en-suite plumbed bathrooms with flushing loos, and a basin with a jug of water by the sink. It also has a small library.

Activities in the camp are majorly game drives and walking safaris, where guides personally take you off the beaten track and in to several remote areas of the park. Staying in one of these tents “Serian’s Serengeti South”, “Serian’s Serengeti Mobile Lamai” or “Serian’s Serengeti North” guests can get a real feeling of being out in the wilderness by taking advantage of their fly camp – a simple dome tent set up in the middle of the bush, with short-drop toilet and bucket shower.

The camp moves seasonally between the northern and the southern plains of the Serengeti, in time with the movement of the wildebeest Migration.
The camp is in the North in the Lamai wedge and Kogatende area of Serengeti, close to the Mara river, from July to mid-November. This is the right time to intimately witness the Great Migration, as herds of wildebeests, zebras among other game traverse across the Mara River. Whereas, from mid-December to the end of April, then is moved down south to the south
